Join usCategory ManagerThis is a highly strategic and analytical role within the business that is accountable for developing in-depth knowledge and expertise of the battery category and providing actionable insights that are relevant and specific to national account customers. The role will work closely with senior management and with customer accounts to execute assortment strategies and provide real-time reporting, including recommendations on pricing, promotion, assortment and space management.Job Components:Create actionable insights to help inform strategy and drive informed decision-making through trend tracking, competitive intelligence and in-depth knowledge and expertise of the battery category.Deliver compelling business storytelling though PowerPoint presentations and charts to ensure insights inspire strategic decision-making.Lead category analysis and insights as part of joint business planning and quarterly business reviews, partnering with account leads to help key customers exceed their Business and Financial Objectives (Sales, Profit, Inventory, GMROI, Share of Market, etc.)Execute assortment strategies and provide real-time weekly reports on testing, sales, and other account specific custom reporting needs, using a variety of data sources.Provide insights within the industry and/or national account to drive changes in price, product selection, market baskets and overall SKU management to grow share.Develop product cluster assortments by store/region on a national scale (SKU breadth and SKU depth) using insights gleaned from data sources. Manage the implementation, reporting and meet or exceed goals for the account(s).Create best practices for retail national account customers using POS and syndicated data platforms.Support new item plans from a category perspective and conduct post analyses on key promotional events.Own the competitive landscape for pricing and promotions. Provide monthly/quarterly reports on competitive moves within the industry. Identify opportunities through analysis of retailer marketplace intelligence.Take a consultative approach to research, with a keen ability to clearly explain the "why" behind the data and eloquently craft a story that leads to profitable growth.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in business, marketing or a related field required. Certification in Category Management preferred.5 years of category or related experience in automotive or consumer-oriented industries (e.g. CPG, Retail). Experience in automotive industry, automotive aftermarket, batteries or a personal passion/interest in the cars preferred.Very strong strategic and analytical thinker with proven capabilities of in-depth data analysis and savvy technology skills. Tableau experience preferred.Exceptional analytical skills with a minimum of (4) years' experience working successfully with complex numerical data.Must be able to synthesize and translate data and research into strong actionable insights to address business challenges and develop a path to implementation. A mix of strong analytical, project management and story-telling experiences; genuine interest in proactive analysis and asking "what's next?"Proven capabilities to collaborate effectively and influence and present to retail clients and key stakeholders internally to guide decisions. Strong planning and business management skills with the ability to develop sections of account joint business plans and penetrate the customer up to the highest ranks.Excellent communication and presentation skills, especially the ability to explain difficult concepts and insights in applicable business terms; strong ability to summarize insights into compelling (PowerPoint) presentations with clear and understandable calls to actionExperience with Point of Sale (POS) and panel data; keen ability to pull data to address business questions, identify trends, and understand what the competition is doing.
